Read, Read, Read

“Read, read, read.”

– William Faulkner

This is the year to read at least 12 books. That’s one book a month. Is that so hard? What about 2 books a month? Three books?

Now is the time to take note of all your time vampires, and decide to replace one with a good book. So, yeah, I should be reading instead of watching the Real Housewives. And later this afternoon I’m gonna pull out a book during the football game and commit to 20 pages — yes, my family will mock me for it, but I can take it.

So what will you read this year?

Sit down and map out twelve months of books. Go back and visit some old favorites. Dust off a classic you haven’t thought about since your senior year English class. Or peruse the Top 10 books of the week on USA Today, The LA Times, or The New York Times.

This month I am committing to The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Welcome to Book Madness

Hi! Welcome to Book Madness 365. Thanks for joining. As you can see, the club is small but growing. We started out with just a few friends and hope to expand into a larger group of friendly readers who want to taste a little bit of everything.

You will see each month is divided into four book challenges. First is the Club Pick — these books are recommended by the club members. Next is the Genre read for the month. Following is the New Release pick — new releases will be available in the month posted. And I’ll try to post new releases available the first two week of the month. The last book is the Listopia pick – culled out from the hundreds (dare I say thousands) of books recommended by Goodreads readers.

Because we are a group of friendly readers, please feel free to introduce yourself and tell us what books you love to read.
